Coaching

I am currently studying for my MSc right here at the University of Chichester, after also completing my BSc in 2024. I fully understand how difficult studying is, specifically as a full-time mature student. Whether I am working from the Bishop Otter Campus or the Bognor Regis Campus, I see firsthand the dedication required to succeed in this environment.

I understand the unique pressures facing students from my experience at the university and the diverse vocational and academic pathways at Chichester College. Being a student here myself, I know the "student experience" in Chichester.

I provide a reflective partnership that is a little different to tutoring. We focus on the reflective Metacognitive skills you need to succeed in the specific context of your studies as well as Transformative and Experiential Learning theories related to adult learning.

The Psychology

I come from a person-centered background and draw on Metacognitive Theory—'thinking about thinking'—to develop study strategies, cognitive-behavioral approaches to look at the "why" behind your habits, and adult learning theories. If you find yourself struggling to stay focused during a long stint in the University Library or feeling the weight of academic "perfectionism," we use active experimentation to find solutions for your specific struggles.

Student topics that often come up are related to stress, procrastination, and anxiety related to exams, essays, and assessments. Because I am navigating my own postgraduate studies locally, I understand these challenges as both a practitioner and a peer.

Why Online?

Even though I am frequently on campus, and I do have access to a space I can book for University of Chichester students at Bishop Otter, but I predominantly provide these sessions via video to offer maximum flexibility. We all know that navigating Chichester’s city centre can be a challenge and parking is rarely simple. By working online, you get the benefit of a coach who is physically part of your academic community, with the ease of a digital-first approach in a space that you find productive.
